Costs
Out of a sincere concern for stemming the rising cost of health care, especially the costs of hospital stays—to patients, managed care companies, insurers, and employers—LNSA is vigilant in cost containment. Members of this practice continue to be leaders in employing clinical techniques that are selected for their positive effect on patient results, and at the same time dramatically reduce patient hospitalization time.
The results speak for themselves. The average hospital stay for LNSA patients undergoing back and neck surgery was cut from just under four days to less than a day and a half in recent years. LNSA surgeons don't advocate "drive-through" surgery, but this kind of rational cost containment is in everyone's best interest, most of all, the patient's.
When surgery is agreed upon, we give you an "explanation of surgical charges" form that will be helpful in estimating costs. It specifies LNSA's surgical fee. It also gives you a surgical procedure code to use with your insurance carrier, to determine the amount of your coverage. We cannot estimate your individual hospital charges, but we suggest that you contact Patient Accounts at your chosen hospital for assistance with that figure.
